Honoring Lindsey.
The Lindsey Ann Varney Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting children and families facing cancer, serious medical conditions, and DIPG.
Rooted in Lindsey’s life and legacy, the foundation brings people together through compassion, service, and community so families know they are not alone.

Honoring Lindsey’s life and legacy.
What began as a way to honor Lindsey has grown into a mission of helping families know they are not alone.
2016
Determined to help, even during treatment
After her DIPG diagnosis, Lindsey befriended and encouraged other children with cancer. She pledged her tumor to science in the hope that her experience could help researchers move closer to a cure.
2019
A community carries Lindsey’s legacy forward
Lindsey died at age 17 after living with DIPG for nearly 32 months. Her family and community continued the faith, friendship, and service for which she was known.
2020
A public charity and a statewide observance
The foundation received federal tax-exempt recognition, and West Virginia observed DIPG Awareness Day on May 17 following a proclamation by Governor Jim Justice.
Today
Local care with a wider reach
The foundation helps children facing serious illness in West Virginia and Southern Virginia, assists families affected by DIPG across the United States, maintains a local scholarship, and supports service, awareness, and research.
Led by family and community.
The foundation is guided by board members committed to protecting Lindsey’s legacy and moving its mission forward.
